Hey, I’m Nikki.

Artist, Ocean Addict, mum, dreamer and lover of moments.

I am a hopeless romantic, dream chaser and seeker of light. When I was younger I was always dreaming of far away places and told I had my head in the clouds and my mind elsewhere. I never felt like I fitted into my conventional surroundings and I was lost in art and the ocean. Born into a family of sailors I developed a love for the ocean at a very early age. The love affair began….

I have always been a photographer. My higher art teacher turned the broom cupboard into a dark room for me to print photos. I then went onto study Photography at Edinburgh College of art back in the days that we locked ourselves in dark rooms and digital hadn’t quite taken off. I spent my free time at the beach listening to music, taking photos, being with friends and family. Every summer I took off traveling and worked aboard in summer camps in the states, travelling Central America and Vietman.

After graduating I bought a round the would ticket and traveled the world on and off for 8 years going anywhere I could be in, on or beside the Ocean. Having surfed a little growing up I ended up falling head over heels in love with the sport, the countries it took me too and the people I met along the way. I worked as a surf photographer while teaching surfing. Working in South Africa, Costa Rica, Australia, New Zealand and Bali. I then met a handsome Kiwi who grew up in a little surf town on the North Island of New Zealand. Also a lover of the ocean and sport this Kiwi brought me back to Glasgow. There was a lack of surf in Glasgow where my Kiwi had a contract playing rugby so thus started the next chapter into wedding photography.

12 years on, a marriage (to the Kiwi) and 3 kids later I am photographing all aspects of us weird and wonderful humans. From weddings to elopements, maternity to birth, newborn’s and families. I deeply love every aspect of it.

I am huge romantic and sentimental over thinker. I love capturing memories and little details that we shouldn’t forget. The looks, expressions, little toes and soft rolls of skin on newborns. I want people to look at an image and feel it like I do. Let it take you back to that moment in time.

At our wedding we were surrounded with people from all over the world from different chapters of both our lives. At the end of the night my Kiwi and I stood in the middle of the dance floor and I cried looking round the room. Tears of joy and happiness. My photographer who had come over from Australia captured this moment. Every time I look at the photo it brings me so much joy. The same feeling I get when I look at as first photo’s of all three of my children. This is the feeling I want to give to you when you get your photos.

I have been lucky enough to travel to many parts of the world to photograph weddings and families, physically and then during covid virtually……but that’s a story for another day.

I’d love to capture some memories for you so please get in touch.
